  • Why are you looking to rehome this pet?
  • Reason for parting: having a baby, a sprained ankle and poor mental health (anxiety). Since I had my daughter 7 months ago the dog has been really difficult to manage, especially after I nearly broke my ankle and was on crutches (still am). The dog has a lot of energy and we’ve gone from 2 long walks (at least an hour each, throwing sticks) down to 10 minutes in the morning and evening (by my husband, who works full time). We have had dog trainers in to help and seen some improvement, especially before the baby was born (I reached a point where she wouldn’t react on the lead 9 times out of 10). Since having a baby, I don’t have the time or resources to dedicate to her ongoing training and she has become reactive again. It’s impossible for me to be consistent with commands and discipline when I am feeding the baby, for example. This came to a head at Christmas when I was walking her with the baby in a sling and she pulled, I fell over, baby was fine but now I am on crutches trying to look after the baby and the dog, as my husband works very long hours. As a result of my accident the amount of exercise she gets has drastically reduced, which in turn is making her understandably harder to manage. She is miserable and would be so happy and a good dog for people who have a less demanding load in life. I am suffering very badly with my mental health trying to manage this effectively by myself, with the barking and not listening because she is bored, it’s making me unwell and I desperately need help. I never wanted to give her up but I have tried everything. I want to do this right and find her a loving home, the right way through a shelter, the problem is so far no one has been able to help, and I feel helpless in this situation, trying to do the right thing by everyone.

Buyer's checklist to avoid scams!

Keep all communication on Furdopt.com – Avoid moving to external platforms where scams are common.
Never send a deposit unless you have viewed the pet in person – Scammers often ask for upfront payments and disappear.
Don’t share your ID or personal details – Protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
Beware of phishing scams – Avoid clicking on suspicious links or emails asking for login details.
Be responsible, do your own research – Verify the seller, their background, and the pet’s history.
Ask lots of questions – A genuine seller will provide health records, vaccination details, and pet history.
Meet in a safe place – Always visit the seller’s premises to see the pet in a secure environment.
Check for warning signs – Unusually low prices, urgency, or reluctance to meet in person are red flags.
Request vet records and microchip details – Ensure the pet is healthy and legally registered.
Avoid sellers who refuse video calls or in-person meetings – Scammers often hide behind fake listings.
Trust your instincts – If something feels off, walk away and report suspicious listings.
