Description

Luca maybe one of our most unlucky dogs. He was found on a road side in Serbia with a very a badly damaged leg which sadly couldn't be saved and was subsequently amputated. Luca came to the Uk a number of years ago but sadly his family were unable to keep him due to work commitments. Luca is now in kennels hoping that his forever home will come along soon. The staff adore him as he is such a happy, fun loving boy who plays nicely and goes for runs on the field despite having only three legs which he doesn’t let stop him one bit! Luca loves to visit his friends the local donkeys, he has good recall although this would need to be established with any new adopter before allowing him off-lead. Luca loves a ride in the car and is great at the vets. Luca does have a tendency to guard his food, therefore he needs to be kept separate when being fed and when any food preparation is taking place. This can be easily achieved with simple stair gates in place. Luca is fine for his bowl to be placed down and taken away when he has finished eating. Luca takes treats gently from the kennel staff giving his paw, he’s such a clever boy. Luca’s wish is a home with lots of love and companionship as he’s a great friend to have around, Luca would need someone who is home regularly as he does like to be around people and can suffer a little anxiety when left alone Luca isn’t tested around cats, he could live with other dogs but careful introductions would be required. He has happily lived with a female dog in his previous home. This boy doesn’t deserve to be stuck in kennels again. He deserves someone who will commit to helping him and keeping him safe. As Luca is in UK, and we desperately want this fantastic guy to find a forever home, we are able to offer them at a reduced adoption fee of £250. *Please note, we do rehome to homes without secure gardens, IF suitable measures can be in place to maintain safety and security of the dog. This will be assessed during home checks.* To register your interest, please submit this form https://www.balkanunderdogs.org.uk/adoption We also advise you read through our guide on adopting a foreign rescue to make sure adopting with Balkan Underdogs is the right decision for you and your family https://www.balkanunderdogs.org.uk/choosing-the-right-foreign-rescue Our dogs are tested for the following conditions as part of our standard testing procedure - Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis and from the 11th June 2021 all dogs are also tested for Brucellosis. Buyer's checklist to avoid scams!

Keep all communication on Furdopt.com – Avoid moving to external platforms where scams are common.
Never send a deposit unless you have viewed the pet in person – Scammers often ask for upfront payments and disappear.
Don’t share your ID or personal details – Protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
Beware of phishing scams – Avoid clicking on suspicious links or emails asking for login details.
Be responsible, do your own research – Verify the seller, their background, and the pet’s history.
Ask lots of questions – A genuine seller will provide health records, vaccination details, and pet history.
Meet in a safe place – Always visit the seller’s premises to see the pet in a secure environment.
Check for warning signs – Unusually low prices, urgency, or reluctance to meet in person are red flags.
Request vet records and microchip details – Ensure the pet is healthy and legally registered.
Avoid sellers who refuse video calls or in-person meetings – Scammers often hide behind fake listings.
Trust your instincts – If something feels off, walk away and report suspicious listings.
