  • Why are you looking to rehome this pet?
  • Sadly the reason we have to rehome her is because she has a strong prey instinct and despite trying we have been unable to integrate her with our 3 cats. Unfortunately she has killed a cat in the past. Due to this we unable to give both her and our other pets the attention and home that they really need to thrive and so are looking for someone who can be this for her.

Description

Farla is a rescue dog from Portugal and has a loving and sweet nature, however due to her breeding and genetics, she needs a home where someone either has knowledge of her breed and working dogs, or is willing to put in the time and money to learn, in order for her to have the best life and reach her potential to be the best dog for you. She is strong willed, highly intelligent and needs a lot of exercise/mental stimulation, she is however keen to learn and please and adores human companionship and snuggles. She is 2.5yrs old, fully insured, neutered and fully vaccinated with a passport. She weights 28kg and is on a raw food diet which ideally we would like to be continued. She is a German Shepard, Belgian Malanois, Wolf Dog mix, along with various other breeds - DNA test available. She cannot be rehomed with other small pets or young children. She could potentially be rehomed with another dog but would ideally prefer to be the only companion. She has lived with another dog for the last 2yrs but can resource guard. She is currently on a three week residential training with a specialist training centre which is work that will need to be continued upon rehoming, but will set her up to be an amazing dog with great social and obedience skills. She is great with dogs, children and people outdoors, but can resource guard indoors hence the residential training and no small children. She has a strong prey instinct and cannot be around small pets, she has killed a cat in the past. Farla needs someone who is mostly at home or can take her to work with them. Ideally someone who can work with her such as scent training and other activities suited to her breed. She is a loving and loyal companion who will value love and affection along with firm boundaries and ongoing training. She is not suited to family life or living in a small flat.

Buyer's checklist to avoid scams!

Keep all communication on Furdopt.com – Avoid moving to external platforms where scams are common.
Never send a deposit unless you have viewed the pet in person – Scammers often ask for upfront payments and disappear.
Don’t share your ID or personal details – Protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
Beware of phishing scams – Avoid clicking on suspicious links or emails asking for login details.
Be responsible, do your own research – Verify the seller, their background, and the pet’s history.
Ask lots of questions – A genuine seller will provide health records, vaccination details, and pet history.
Meet in a safe place – Always visit the seller’s premises to see the pet in a secure environment.
Check for warning signs – Unusually low prices, urgency, or reluctance to meet in person are red flags.
Request vet records and microchip details – Ensure the pet is healthy and legally registered.
Avoid sellers who refuse video calls or in-person meetings – Scammers often hide behind fake listings.
Trust your instincts – If something feels off, walk away and report suspicious listings.
