Additional information

  • Is your pet comfortable around other dogs?
  • Yes
  • Is your pet comfortable around other cats?
  • Unsure
  • Bruno lives happily with other dogs in his foster home, but as he is much bigger than their other dogs they do find Bruno a little intimidating. This doesn't bother couch potato Bruno one bit. When Bruno sees cats and other dogs on his walks he doesn't react, he calmly walks past. He hasn't met many other types of pets.
  • Is your pet comfortable around children?
  • 11–15 years old
  • Why are you looking to rehome this pet?
  • Bruno was sadly not allowed time from his adopters to decompress from his travels from Serbia to the UK, and his adopters returned him to the charity. His foster mum stepped in to help out but unfortunately due to her other dogs not getting on well with Bruno, he cannot stay with them after June, or she would keep him in a heartbeat. If he doesn't find another home by June, he will need to return to the pension in Serbia he lived in before travelling to the UK. The pensions in Serbia are to a high standard, and he will be well loved and cared for, but it will be his last chance at being rehomed in the UK.
  • Ideal home
  • Experienced pet owner
  • Does your pet require a secure outdoor space?
  • No

Description

Bruno is currently in UK foster. Unfortunately, after a stressful journey to the UK from Serbia, Bruno was not given appropriate support from his adopters to allow him to settle and he was returned to BU. Initially being moved to a kennels, he is in a temporary foster where he has settled quickly and is showing what a loving and friendly guy he is. He has been described as the perfect house guest in his foster home. His foster mum said she would keep him in a heartbeat if her other dogs were not so intimidated with him being around. He is a big baby who finds his confidence and reassurance from the love and cuddles he receives. He is around 6 years old and large in build and has been described as being a very friendly and gentle dog who loves cuddles and giving hugs. Bruno is friendly with other dogs and likes the company of people. Bruno loves going for walks in his foster home and so far nothing seems to phase him. Bruno is a big, bouncy guy, so will need an adopter who is used to big, strong dogs. As Bruno is one of our long term dogs who has been with us over 4 years, and thanks to some wonderful sponsors, we have been able to reduce Bruno’s adoption fee to £250. *Please note, we do rehome to homes without secure gardens, IF suitable measures can be in place to maintain safety and security of the dog. This will be assessed during home checks.* To register your interest, please submit this form https://www.balkanunderdogs.org.uk/adoption We also advise you read through our guide on adopting a foreign rescue to make sure adopting with Balkan Underdogs is the right decision for you and your family https://www.balkanunderdogs.org.uk/choosing-the-right-foreign-rescue Our dogs are tested for the following conditions as part of our standard testing procedure - Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis and from the 11th June 2021 all dogs are also tested for Brucellosis. Full Home checks apply. See our website for full information.

Buyer's checklist to avoid scams!

Keep all communication on Furdopt.com – Avoid moving to external platforms where scams are common.
Never send a deposit unless you have viewed the pet in person – Scammers often ask for upfront payments and disappear.
Don’t share your ID or personal details – Protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
Beware of phishing scams – Avoid clicking on suspicious links or emails asking for login details.
Be responsible, do your own research – Verify the seller, their background, and the pet’s history.
Ask lots of questions – A genuine seller will provide health records, vaccination details, and pet history.
Meet in a safe place – Always visit the seller’s premises to see the pet in a secure environment.
Check for warning signs – Unusually low prices, urgency, or reluctance to meet in person are red flags.
Request vet records and microchip details – Ensure the pet is healthy and legally registered.
Avoid sellers who refuse video calls or in-person meetings – Scammers often hide behind fake listings.
Trust your instincts – If something feels off, walk away and report suspicious listings.
