Additional information

  • Yes
  • Is your pet comfortable around other cats?
  • Unsure
  • Is your pet comfortable around children?
  • Under 5 years old
  • Why are you looking to rehome this pet?
  • We rehomed Brie when she was 6 years old, after she spent her life being passed around and used for breeding. She has spent the past 5 years living a chilled out life and thoroughly enjoying her senior years with us. Unfortunately, our situation has changed, we have sold our home, left our jobs and will be moving abroad, with no fixed home. This would massively disrupt Brie’s life, as all she wants is a peaceful retirement, with routine and home to call her own.
  • Ideal home
  • Quiet household
  • Does your pet require a secure outdoor space?
  • No

Description

Brie is the most chilled out, unbothered dog there is! She spends most of her time relaxing/sleeping, although does love a trip to the local pub in exchange for some snacks and attention. She loves kids and does not jump up or bark excessively. She gets along great with other dogs, however would be looking for a home ideally as an only dog, as she likes to have all the attention to herself - she definitely prefers human companionship. She previously lived with an older lurcher with us, and prefers larger dogs than smaller ones, but could want to be “top dog” in a house. We know in her previous homes she was kept with other dogs, with various success. She does bark at cats occasionally however doesn’t chase them. She can live with any other animals absolutely fine (previously with guinea pigs and small birds with no issues). She can be left for hours without problem, although will need a toilet break a few times a day. Due to her age, she is a bit blind and deaf, so thrives in routine and knowing her surroundings. We do have stairs in our garden that she manages OK with, and she stays downstairs in our home (is allowed on the sofas). She can go on walks for about 15mins per day. We do have a cycling trailer and a backpack she rides in comfortably if needing to go out for longer durations. She travels well in vehicles. Brie is a big softy, loves nothing more than to snuggle up no matter the day or time. We are heartbroken to be considering this option, but we know that our immediate future is just not appropriate for her, and would cause her far too much unjust stress, that she doesn’t deserve. We are looking for a home that will keep in contact with us, and provide some updates where possible. She will come with all her belongings - beds, bowls, trailer, backpacks, food toys etc. She is up to date with all her vaccines, recently had a dental and has a clean bill of health from the vets. We are happy to answer any and all questions.

FurDopt Safety Advice: You MUST read our buyer's checklist before contacting the advertiser.

Buyer's checklist to avoid scams!

Keep all communication on Furdopt.com – Avoid moving to external platforms where scams are common.
Never send a deposit unless you have viewed the pet in person – Scammers often ask for upfront payments and disappear.
Don’t share your ID or personal details – Protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
Beware of phishing scams – Avoid clicking on suspicious links or emails asking for login details.
Be responsible, do your own research – Verify the seller, their background, and the pet’s history.
Ask lots of questions – A genuine seller will provide health records, vaccination details, and pet history.
Meet in a safe place – Always visit the seller’s premises to see the pet in a secure environment.
Check for warning signs – Unusually low prices, urgency, or reluctance to meet in person are red flags.
Request vet records and microchip details – Ensure the pet is healthy and legally registered.
Avoid sellers who refuse video calls or in-person meetings – Scammers often hide behind fake listings.
Trust your instincts – If something feels off, walk away and report suspicious listings.
