  • Why are you looking to rehome this pet?
  • It is with a heavy heart that we have no choice but to rehome our little family girl, Bettie. This is due to a combination of my wife’s newly diagnosed medical condition, our upcoming international home move, and all adults in the home working full-time while also managing childcare responsibilities therefore little time for her going forward. This decision is through no fault of her own. Good home only, please.

Description

Bettie is an exceptionally quiet and calm cat. She rarely vocalises and almost never shows anger (the third photo captures the rare time we’ve seen it). She is incredibly affectionate—she follows you around the house, sits next to you whenever you sit down, greets you when you return home, and keeps you company much like a dog. She enjoys watching TV, observing birds, moving cars and traffic from the window, and loves playing with moving light and shadows. She likes paste cat treats but is perfectly happy without them. Despite being very loving and people-oriented, she is also content on her own while you are out at work during the day. She has the best temperament of any cat we’ve ever met. Our regular cat sitter always praises her and recommends her temperament, and so do her groomers and friends who have met her over the years. Details: Age: 6 years old (born 26 April 2019) Indoor cat since birth Neutered a few weeks after birth Raised in a home with a child, but no other cats or dogs Vaccination records available for the early years (she has been strictly indoors) Fully litter-trained and scratch-post trained — never any accidents Microchipped We can recommend our carefully selected pet insurance provider (we’ve never needed to make a claim) We are happy to include a brand-new scratch post, a good-quality carrier cage, existing cat food for free. Bettie is ready to leave now. This is a genuine and very sad, bittersweet rehoming — she has been with us since she was a baby, and we never imagined we would ever have to part with her.

Buyer's checklist to avoid scams!

Keep all communication on Furdopt.com – Avoid moving to external platforms where scams are common.
Never send a deposit unless you have viewed the pet in person – Scammers often ask for upfront payments and disappear.
Don’t share your ID or personal details – Protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
Beware of phishing scams – Avoid clicking on suspicious links or emails asking for login details.
Be responsible, do your own research – Verify the seller, their background, and the pet’s history.
Ask lots of questions – A genuine seller will provide health records, vaccination details, and pet history.
Meet in a safe place – Always visit the seller’s premises to see the pet in a secure environment.
Check for warning signs – Unusually low prices, urgency, or reluctance to meet in person are red flags.
Request vet records and microchip details – Ensure the pet is healthy and legally registered.
Avoid sellers who refuse video calls or in-person meetings – Scammers often hide behind fake listings.
Trust your instincts – If something feels off, walk away and report suspicious listings.
