🐾 Meet Sanchez – Looking for a Foster-to-Adopt or Forever Home Age: 8 Breed: Mixed Size: Medium/Large (27kg) Location: Dudley, West Midlands Sanchez is a very loyal, easy-going, affectionate boy looking for a loving home. He may be older, but he is by no means an old man. He is the perfect mix of being full of life and chilled out. ❤️ About Sanch ✅ House trained: Yes ✅ Crate trained: Yes ✅ Good with dogs: Yes (bigger, dominant dogs scare him) ✅ Good with cats: Unknown (the rescue has said yes) ✅ Good with children: Yes (prefers younger children, as teenagers are scary) ✅ Vaccinated: Yes ✅ Neutered: Yes ✅ Microchipped: Yes ❤️ Personality Sanchez is a brilliant furry best friend. He wants to be in your company but isn't a pest. He wants a good fuss but isn't overbearing. He loves going on a walk but doesn't need hours of exercise to wear him out. He loves food but doesn't beg. He has great house manners and has been a pleasure to foster. He does bark at the door, but we love this added level of security. He is also threshold trained, so he does not go outside the front door without us telling him to. He walks nicely on a lead but sometimes startles, so a firm grip is needed. He is everything you could want from your canine companion. He is super loyal, wants to make you happy, and wants to keep you safe. We cannot fault him! His only downfall for adoption is his fear of new people. Any potential adopters would need to give him a bit of time, space and patience, and once you have shown him he can trust you, you will be rewarded with the most amazing boy. ❤️ Ideal Home Sanchez would be better suited to a home without lots of visitors, mainly due to his fear of new people. We don't have a lot of visitors, so it's been more than manageable for us. He will have a little grumble at visitors but, at the same time, wants to go over for a fuss. Although he is great with our two 6-year-olds and is fine with visiting younger children, he may be more suited to a home without children due to his initial nervousness. Sanchez is absolutely fine as an only dog, but we also looked after a friend's small dog recently. At first we thought he would be too much for Sanchez, but Sanch was amazing with him. He enjoyed playing and didn't get aggressive over his toys, treats or bed. It seems he liked having a buddy too. ❤️ Foster-to-Adopt If you're interested but want to ensure it's the right fit, a foster-to-adopt arrangement is available. This gives both you and Sanchez time to adjust before making a permanent commitment. Fostering is free; you just pay day-to-day costs like food and treats. ❤️ Requirements Any resident dogs need to be neutered. A secure garden is preferable, but Sanchez would be OK without a garden if he gets a couple of walks a day. A home check will need to be completed for either fostering or adoption. ❤️ Meet and Greets We are happy to travel up to 2 hours for meetings, and further to drop off to the right home. Home visits can also be done. As it takes Sanchez a little bit of time to trust people, please have an open mind and realistic expectations with initial meet-ups. Sanchez will be rehomed with his lead, harness, coat and some of his current food.
